We have a fantastic team of local, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

We provide efficient, effective and friendly customer service from our office based in Alnwick, providing guests with information about our properties and using our extensive local knowledge to help them find the perfect property for their needs.

Whether you are a new or existing holiday homeowner, our staff can offer friendly and honest advice, coupled with specific industry know-how. Our local staff can provide a fantastic level of service, from marketing, through to finance and even property management.

Having a strong knowledge of the local area, with many of the staff members having lived in the region most of their lives is one of our unique selling points. We are extremely passionate about our county and the properties we add to our portfolio. We are constantly on the lookout for more fantastic properties that our guests will fall in love with. From seaside cottages, rural idylls, modern holiday apartments and everything in between, we have the know-how to market your property.

We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service, and many of our customers come back to us year after year, and many of our homeowners have stayed with us for many years.

Stay Northumbria is a local brand with national exposure.

We have a local office based in Alnwick, but Stay Northumbria is also one of a family of local brands in The Original Cottage Company, a business established in 1992 by Richard and Leslie Ellis.

The Original Cottage Company runs its national brand from its offices in Reepham in Norfolk and provides a variety of specialist services for its local brands.

Being part of the Original Cottages family means we benefit from a unique standing. The knowledge and expertise of the local team is complemented by specialist industry knowledge.

  • Thanks to our Cancellation Protection Scheme, we can guarantee you will get paid in full if a holidaymaker cancels.

  • On the 28th of each month, you will receive a monthly settlement of deposits and balances paid by guests within that month. You will also receive a monthly statement providing details of outgoings and payments to you.

Our website is the most powerful and important tool we have to promote Stay Northumbria and our fantastic properties. Our website is ‘responsive’ which means it’s appearance changes to best fit the device on which it is being viewed. We invest in ‘pay per click’ advertising to ensure that our position on Google is good and we work hard to ensure that we are always adding relevant information to our site, which creates a good user experience and also improves our ‘organic’ search engine performance. Our social media audience is constantly growing and evolving as we actively seek to talk to our customers on a personal level to build both awareness of our brand and strengthen relationships we have with our customers.

We regularly communicate with our customers with personalised, targeted emailing, featuring properties, events and special offers.

In addition to our own websites, we pay to list your properties on 20+ affiliate websites, both in the UK and elsewhere in the EU, casting the net further still.

Hassle-free property management

If you live outside of Northumberland, its very likely that you won't have the time, resources, or even the inclination, to manage your holiday home on a day to day basis.

That's where the Stay Northumbria Management team step in.

We have a number of properties on our portfolio with absentee owners living as far away as Alabama USA, Gozo, Singapore, France, London and other locations around the UK, so the team is well experienced to cover all the eventualities of managing a holiday home investment like yours.

Regular maintenance

Whether you would just like someone to do the weekly change overs, laundry, and set ups for guests arrivals.  Or whether you need someone to take on the full property management for you including maintenance, gardening, and organising things like window cleans, oil deliveries etc etc, we can provide a full or part service to meet your needs.

Repair work

Wherever possible we use local trades people to fulfil regular and one-off services. Provide all of the administration of arranging trades works, invoice payments etc. and provide monthly or quarterly reports so that you have all the relevant information about how your property is being managed.

Welcome packs

We can provide welcome packs at our managed properties which include coffee, milk, sugar, Northumbrian tea and biscuits, a bathroom welcome pack and a kitchen welcome pack including cleaning equipment. Properties will also have flyers and leaflets for local attractions.

We can also cater the welcome pack to your requirements, so any additional supplies you would like included, please let our team know.
